The International Congress on Progress in biogas II was held at the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart. As members of the GECO►C research group, Daniel Gaida, M.Sc. and Dipl.-Ing. Vitali Dercho were represented with a poster on "MATLAB Toolbox for Biogas Plant Modelling and Optimization". The topics of the Congress dealt with the biogas production from agricultural biomass and organic residues.
The topics ranged from small house biogas plants in Lesotho to the industrial plants in Germany and Europe. In this international Congress, the focus was however on the substrate preparation, the effect of bacteria and trace elements, the advances in production technology and the policy environment.
