24.02.2012: Cooperation agreement between the and Serbian University Novi Sad
Prof. Bongards visited the serbian University of Novi Sad together with the entrepreneur Karl Bösl by Alpha Biopower Serbia. He signed a cooperation agreement with the university and on this occasion, Prof. Bongards presented the Cologne University of Applied Sciences, his research group GECO►C and the also the research-project :metabolon. In this context, he discussed with his colleagues Prof. Milos Tesic and Dr. Goran Vujic the possibilities of future cooperation. Thus, an important aspect for the future is the exchange of students and graduate students in the form of internships or research trips.
The company Alpha Biopower Serbia plans the construction of a large biogas plant in the area of Novi Sad that will work with waste from local slaughterhouses and thus will produce energy as well as an important contribution to environmental protection. Karl Bösl was acquainted with the project :metabolon in Lindlar, through the mediation of the NRW Energy Agency, and he was immediately impressed. In collaboration with the University of Novi Sad, he plans to integrate its biogas plant at a local research park. The first step in this direction was the co-operation agreement between the University of Novi Sad, the Cologne University of Applied Sciences and his company, Alpha Biopower Serbia.
