08.-12.04.2013: Project: metabolon for the second time at the Hannover Fair
Also this year, the Cologne University of Applied Sciences - together with her partner company BAV, Bergischer Abfallwirtschaftsverband - the regional flagship project :metabolon on the world's biggest industrial fair. Prof. Bongards, the scientific head of the 14-million-euro-project, took the opportunity to present the newest research from the biogas area with his team GECO►C (Gummersbach Environmental Computing Center): MIR-spectroscopy in an online-probe for use in the biogas fermenter.
On this occasion, measures the probe in the medium waveband area, which is used for the first time on biogas plants. This innovative approach is obstructed in an on-line probe of the KNICK Elektronische Messgeräte GmbH & Co. KG by which the measuring parametres can be measured on a real-time basis. However, this becomes possible only through the installation of newly-developed fibers of the art photonics GmbH, by which the dispersion can be reduced so far that measurements in the MIR range get possible. "In this way we can identify completely new parametres, which are - till now - non-recorded", explains Dipl.-Ing. Christian Wolf. "Thus, the concentration of organic acids can help us to make more accurate statements concerning the plant condition."
