Wastewater Treatment Plants

Water, as the most important source of nourishment in the world, is a commodity that is in short supply and, accordingly, one that is particularly valuable in many parts of the world. It is also for this reason that wastewater treatment is an important component in the water cycle.

Due to increasing demands, modern wastewater treatment plants have to continually improve the quality of the wastewater being discharged. The pollutants contained in the wastewater, inorganic nitrogen and phosphorus compounds as well as organic carbon compounds, must thereby be eliminated or reduced to such an extent that the limiting values prescribed by the legislature are adhered to. On the other hand the operators of wastewater treatment plants are being forced to make savings. In order to ensure that both aims are met, complex wastewater treatment processes and efficient automated concepts are needed.

And this is where our work begins:

The optimisation of wastewater treatment plants by means of intelligent operation and control systems, not only improves their cleaning efficiency but also leads to an ideal level of energy consumption. That allows savings to be made with regard to operating costs and, at the same time, is kind to the environment.

Thus the following optimisation and control processes thereby come to be used:

  • Fuzzy-Logic
  • Condition controllers
  • Agent systems
  • Artificial neurale networks (ANN)
  • Genetic algorithms (GA) and ParticleSwarm Optimisation (PSO)
  • Only when optimisation or the control system meets the requirements of our custom-ers, practical testing within the real process takes place.

Accordingly, we see part of our success as being founded on the close cooperation between our practically orientated customers and ourselves.
