Simulation Technology in relation to Biogas Plants
The use of a simulation model allows various control processes of computational intelligence (CI), such as fuzzy logic, genetic algorithms, etc. to be tested, without intervening in plant operation. Thus, for example, critical plant states can be simulated and identified beforehand using the model.
One approach is the use of genetic algorithms, so-called “GAs”, whereby hundreds of substrate combinations are simulated and evaluated. The aim in doing this is to achieve an optimised substrate feed to the biogas plant. This feed is then adjusted automatically depending on the operational state of the plant.
