Processes used in environmental technology such as wastewater treatment or the generation of biogas come up with a large number of different measurement values which often have to be continuously measured. One typical problem of such series of measurements is “loud noise”, with the result that in the case of a graphic representation no clear trend can be seen. This is particularly striking in the case of long measurement periods that stretch over months or even years.

However, with the help of specially matched interpolation methods, the actual trends can be made visible. Frequently it is only through these that it is possible for the plant operators to gain actual knowledge from the plethora of data and to react to problems that are emerging.

Statistical investigations such as regression and correlation analyses offer insights into whether there are connections between the individual process parameters and what these are. In many cases, connections can be derived as a result of this that cannot be identified when considering just the measured values.
An effective analysis of the measured values recorded is just as important as their capture. Only when the data is suitably processed and evaluated does it become of any real use.
