Within the context of the development of an intelligent operation and control system for sewerage systems and wastewater treatment plants a forecast of the total wastewater arising, that is as accurate as possible, is necessary. Water from precipitations, as a rule, has an impact on the level of wastewater within the sewerage system.
> „Gauging station for precipitation“
First of all, the precipitation behaviour of a region is selectively recorded and categorised. Parallel measurements using various measuring devices make it possible to establish the most suitable measuring processes. As a rule, a comparative evaluation of these determind values leads to slightly differing results.
The measured values are compared with precipitation forecast data for the area, to assess the accuracy of the forecast. The priority in this connection is to record useful precipitation values as accurately as possible, otherwise control can only begin, at the earliest, with the onset of the precipitation.
Extending the taking of measurements to several points which have been searched out in a targeted way allows conclusions to be drawn through the spatial distribution of the precipitations within the catchment area of a sewerage system. In addition, a check is carried out to see which measurement processes appear suitable at which point for the purpose of integration into a predictive control system. The aim in analysing the rain data is to determine the precipitation behaviour within the catchment area of a sewerage system as accurately as possible.
