Engagement in Environmental Technology
The close cooperation with companies from the economy forms the basis for the practice-oriented research of the Gummersbach working group GECO►C. The young scientists deliver innovative solutions for environmental tasks and implement them successfully.
The research is the focus, said Prof. Dr. Michael Bongards, as head of GECO►C. He is active as a professor at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences, Campus Gummersbach, at the Institute for Automation & Industrial IT, and maintains intensive communication with the students and gets them involve with practical tasks in actual research contracts. In the past, Prof. Bongards himself had been an entrepreneur, he builds successfully bridges to industry and commerce in order to introduce research and innovation into industry.
The working group GECO►C is devoted to solving scientific problems in form of research contracts: Working together with industrial or commercial partners ground-breaking solutions for industrial applications are being developed. Financial support is possible from the state of NRW, the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, the EU and many other organizations.
The industrial and communal partners profit from not only finding innovative solutions but they can as a result save costs for example from reduced energy requirements.
