Research Focus: COSA - „Computational Services in Automation“
Aim of the Research Focus is the development of Computational Services, which could be use local or remote (eServices) to optimize the production of systems and machines in the field of production and process automation.
Typical parts of Computational Services are online calculations for process optimization, remote diagnosis of process data, teleservice of remotely machine systems and the use of simulation and trainee systems.
The involved Scientist are disposed of comprehensive experiences in complementary fields like development of technology, methods and application development, which are combined in the framework of the shared exploratory focus.
The Area of research, which is masked by COSA, contains the following domains:
Technology Development (Industrial Communication Systems, Web Technologies, Mobile Technologies, Sensor Systems)
Method Development (Neuro-Fuzzy, Advanced Process Control, Optimization)
Application Development (mobile Visualization of Plants, Teleservice, webbased Trainee Systems, Process Optimization within Water- und Wastewater Technology)
Since November 2006 the Research Focus COSA wears, after an external evaluation through referees of the AiF, the seal of quality of the ministry of innovation (MIWFT) as an approved Research Focus.
Members of the Research Focus are:
Prof. Dr. Michael Bongards (Automation & Industrial IT)
Prof. Dr. Frithjof Klasen (Sprecher; Automation & Industrial IT)
Prof. Dr. Rainer Scheuring (Automation & Industrial IT)
Prof. Dr. Bartz-Beielstein (Computer Science)
Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Konen (Computer Science)
