The territory of the association stretches over a total area of 1,091.9 km2 in which approx. 350,000 people live. Members of the association are districts, towns, communities, public utilities and industrial companies.
The duties of Aggerverband comprise:
Control of the water outflow including flood prevention
Maintance of bodies of water above ground
Renaturation of extended bodies of water above ground
Minimisation of the effects of changes in the condition of the ground water
Procurement and provision of water supplies for drinking and business purposes as well as for the exploitation of the force of the water
Removal of wastewater
Removal of waste from businesses
Minimisation of the effects of wastewater pipes on water above ground
